Biography

Jonah McMullen is an emerging creative professional with a strong background in writing, art, and game design. With a passion for crafting compelling stories, studio and game art, and immersive gameplay experiences, he actively seeks opportunities to contribute his talents. He believes collaboration is the key to bringing ideas from concept to execution.

To Jonah, the secret to compelling game narrative design lies in dynamic characters, rich, unintrusive world-building, player impact, and the interweaving of story and gameplay. To him, game narrative design is about expression, escapism, and helping players to build their own stories.

Jonah is a versatile artist whose detail-oriented approach can be seen in his meticulous studio work and the streamlined aesthetic of his game art.

While developing the Cybele 2 Original Game Story Design, Jonah learned that a marriage between story and gameplay is imperative to having a world feel deep and interactive. While working as Narrative Lead on George Mason: A Declaration of Rites, he became acquainted with the fluidity of the creation process and the need to adapt and tweak narrative points in the interest of collaboration.

Jonah has studied creative writing techniques abroad and developed games in both solo and group settings. He has a BFA in Game Design and a Minor in English from George Mason University.
